I have time to do a couple of small exercises in painting while I am planning a couple of portraits. I took some photos of crumpled tissue paper in sunlight and it will be a challenge to make it look real. I drew it out and put the first wash of mixed grey for the background shadows. I like starting with the darks because I judge the rest of the values from them.
