I finished the kleenex box and have started on the cough syrup bottle.

I started working on the kleenex box in the background as well as adding another layer of colour to the walls behind it.

Sick Time started

This is a painting I am doing for our local art club's annual show. The theme for the show is "distorted perspectives". I came up with the idea while I was sick in bed last week. When you are really ill you don't know what day it is and barely know if it is day or night. The only time you are interested in is how long until you can take your next meds. I set up the still life in the middle of the night and this will end up much darker than it looks so far.

I drew it out and started the first couple of washes just to start blocking things in.

Drinking Buddies Finished

I finally finished this one (unless I see a touch up or two in the next couple of days). I am happy with how it turned out and it makes me smile when I look at it. The shadows on the table are deeper in real life but the photo washes them out.

Step 15

I was finally able to get back to painting today. I am about half finished the green mug and put the first wash on the blue one.

Step 14

I haven't painted in a week due to a bad flu so this is the first day I've had enough energy to work on it again. I only did about an hour but have pretty well finished the gold mug and I have started the first light washes on the middle mug. It is charcoal grey in real life but I am going to change it to a dark grey-green for the sake of the painting. The photo has washed out most of the green colour that is there so far but it will be clearer as it is built up.
