I did more washes on the background trying to get a feel for the folds in the cloth.

I'll really have to come up with a title for this one soon. :) I had a hard time getting myself interested in starting this one. The shadows are going to be purple hued to compliment the oranges and harmonize with the cherries. I removed some of the yellow masking fluid but there is still quite a lot on there. Still lots more shadows to put in the background to get it where I want it before I start the foreground objects. It is still difficult to get a good photo with all the white on the paper. It will be better as I fill more in.

New Painting step 1

It's been awhile since I've been painting. Work and life got in the way for awhile.

I started drawing out a new painting but I still have adjustments to do on the drawing before I can start laying in washes of paint. It is 16 x 22". I haven't come up with a final name for it yet. The yellow areas on the paper are masking fluid to preserve the whites. As I finish finalizing an area of the drawing, I am putting on the masking. The photo is hard to see but it will become clearer as I start painting.
